Strata Workflow Studio
A monthly AI workflow development subscription.
- Unlimited workflow backlog
- 1–2 active development lanes, by plan
- Monthly subscription · 90-day start, then month-to-month
Strata Workflow Studio is for companies that want practical automation without hiring a full internal AI team. Each package includes platform access, hosting, support, and dedicated workflow development capacity. You maintain an unlimited backlog of workflow requests; SpecTech works through it based on the number of active development lanes in your package.
Unlimited workflow backlog, with a limited number of active development lanes. Larger initiatives, complex integrations, production deployments, data migrations, and high-risk workflows may be scoped separately.

The math
Less than the cost of one hire.
A single in-house AI engineer runs $180k–$250k all-in — before they've shipped anything. Strata Workflow Studio gives you the platform, an active build lane, support, and a real team for a predictable monthly fee.

Custom priced
Custom Scope Projects
For larger or higher-risk initiatives that do not fit inside a standard monthly workflow lane.
How it's structured
- Custom scope
- Custom timeline
- Milestone-based pricing
- Can be added to Core or Growth at any time
- Completed workflows can roll into monthly support and maintenance
Examples
- Full invoice processor deployment
- SharePoint document system buildout
- Copilot or agent deployment into a client tenant
- API integrations
- Custom dashboards
- Data migration
- Multi-department rollout
- Production approval workflows
- Sensitive financial, legal, or operational workflows
The Workflow Activation Fee
Each new client begins with a one-time Workflow Activation Fee. This covers discovery, workspace setup, access and security review, workflow library alignment, backlog creation, initial workflow prioritization, and a 30-day implementation roadmap.
The fee also reflects access to SpecTech's existing Strata workflow library and reusable workflow accelerators, which reduce time-to-value compared to building from scratch.
How billing works
Monthly subscription fees begin at kickoff because they reserve active workflow development capacity, platform access, support setup, and implementation work from day one. The first workflow deployment is a project milestone, not the start of the engagement.
Client delays, missing access, missing documents, or delayed approvals may affect delivery timelines but do not pause monthly subscription billing.
Platform Maintenance Plan
Platform Maintenance Plan
For clients who pause active development but want existing workflows to remain available and supported.
Includes
- Platform access
- Hosting
- Basic monitoring
- Light support
- Maintenance for 1 deployed workflow
- Security and dependency maintenance
- Keeping existing workflows operational
Does not include
- New workflow development
- Major enhancements
- New integrations
- Significant redesign
- New production deployments
- Large client-requested changes
How the model works
- Active workflow development lane
- The primary workflow currently being designed, configured, built, tested, or materially improved.
- Workflow backlog
- Your prioritized list of requested workflows, improvements, and automation ideas. The backlog can be unlimited, but active work is limited by your selected package.
- Deployed workflow
- A workflow that has moved beyond prototype and is available for your use in a live or semi-live environment.
- Custom scope project
- A project that exceeds the complexity, risk, or timeline of normal workflow lane development and requires separate pricing and timeline.
Frequently asked questions
What exactly is an active workflow development lane?
It's one workflow being actively designed, built, tested, or materially improved at a time. Core includes one lane; Growth includes two. You can keep an unlimited backlog of requests — the lanes determine how many move forward in parallel.
Is this unlimited custom software development?
No. The offer is an unlimited workflow backlog with a limited number of active development lanes. Larger initiatives, complex integrations, production deployments, data migrations, and high-risk workflows are scoped separately as Custom Scope Projects.
Why does billing start at kickoff instead of at first delivery?
Your subscription reserves active development capacity, platform access, support setup, and implementation work from day one. The first deployment is a milestone within the engagement, not its starting point.
What does the Workflow Activation Fee cover?
Discovery, workspace setup, access and security review, workflow library alignment, backlog creation, initial prioritization, and a 30-day implementation roadmap — plus access to our existing Strata workflow library and reusable accelerators that shorten time-to-value.
Can I pause development but keep my workflows running?
Yes. The Platform Maintenance Plan keeps existing workflows available and supported — hosting, monitoring, light support, and security/dependency maintenance — without active new development.
How do you keep the underlying data current?
SpecTech maintains proprietary ingestion pipelines that pull our corpora — regulations, districts, bid, platting, and market data — and keep them continuously up to date, so your workflows reason over current information rather than a stale snapshot.
Can I cancel?
Each engagement starts with a 90-day initial commitment, then moves month-to-month and is cancelable with 30 days' notice after the initial term.
What about sensitive or regulated data?
Strata is built on a Controlled Intelligence Architecture: source-cited, auditable, human-in-the-loop, with sensitive workflows handled under appropriate review. High-risk workflows are scoped deliberately, not rushed into a lane.
